When my wife Grace and I acquired Side Door in Manhattan Beach another lifetime
ago, we were a family of two, who had recently relocated from Hell’s Kitchen NYC to
the Beach by way of Hollywood. We fell in love with the beach life and were excited
to bring a bit of Broadway and classic Jazz to the Martini Menu and Old School
hospitality we served up at the Side Door.

Our family grew in size to include our two sons Lucio and Santino and a faithful
following of Side Door patrons, valued employees and friends we now call family as

We want to thank you all for your loyalty and friendship as we wind up our run at
the Side Door. Although we will still be invested in its success, a new chapter of the
spot known as Side Door shall begin. The day-to-day management of this hidden
gem (in plain site) where 9th Street meets Manhattan Ave, will be in the hands of
Nicolas Klutka. Nick will usher in the new concept with the same energy and care
that made Side Door a MB staple for over a decade.

During our final week, July 21-28, I will be at the bar every night from 8p till Close.
We will be memorializing Side Door in a book and invite you to stop in and share
stories and pictures celebrating good times. On Sunday, July 28 at 7p, our final night,
I may even be persuaded to sing some of your favorites. We look forward to seeing
treasured friends and family and toasting our new beginning together.

We will continue to call the South Bay our home and be a part of the hospitality
community and have a few surprises in store for you this holiday season. Please
check out our websites and for updates.
If you planning on coming by on Sunday, our last night, PLEASE call for a
reservation at (310)-722-1084.

With great affection and appreciation,
Lou & Grace Giovannetti
